Scopoletin contents and antioxidant properties of some edible plants of Black Sea regions

Abstract Scopoletin is a phytochemical of coumarins distributed in some plants. The aim this study was the evaluation scopoletin content and antioxidant activity nettle, mallow, purslane, knot-grass, dill coriander encountered Black Sea regions. Analyses were conducted on leaves stems these plants, except knot-grass. lowest found nettle (11.48 mg/kg) highest amount knot-grass (6708.37 mg/kg). not detected purslane total phenolic mallow stem (0.86 mg GAE/g) value (67.74 GAE/g). ferric reducing power (FRAP) ascertained (1571.58 µmol Fe 2+ /g) (64905.90 /g). displayed DPPH radical scavenging 48.63 TE/g, while provided 5261.56 TE/g . These results revealed that richest source antioxidants. studied plants exhibited high interest food, cosmetic pharmaceutical industries.
